ROB REDFEARN,  Founder/CEO of TerraStar Energy and independent waste-to-energy consultant

I have been actively engaged in the renewable energy field since 2008. Back then, I identified a niche in “waste-to-energy” that was nascent and full of opportunity. While everyone else was dealing with solar and wind technologies which are clean and sexy, I saw that “hog manure” (a serious problem where I live in North Carolina) was going virtually untouched!  Go figure!   Admittedly, not-so-sexy … but an opportunity nonetheless.

Since jumping in, so to speak, to the manure-to-energy industry, I have increased the scope of my and my company’s knowledge base and skill set. We, early on, added new technologies which alone and in concert can handle virtually any kind  and any volume of waste. In particular,  Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) has become a major focus of ours and we get numerous leads and inquiries on this particular issue every week, from all around the world. Landfills around the globe are nearing capacity. They are expensive to build and maintain and even at their best, create difficult environmental problems. We are regularly called upon to help.

To this end, we created a separate consulting division within TerraStar. We have a full team of engineers, legal and insurance experts, technologists, scientists and product developers at our disposal to aid in the development and construction of waste-to-energy power plants. We also can assist anyone (municipality, company, government entity, private business or individual person) with cost-benefit analysis and anything from a superficial analysis to a thorough in-depth site and waste stream audit with full financial modeling.

I personally provide the highest level strategic planning and consulting for implementing systems to convert solid waste to energy. Combining gasification, anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis, biomass boilers and incineration is often the best approach to, at once, process the greatest amount of garbage and produce the most amount of energy for the least amount of cost.

I guarantee my clients to take a seemingly complex problem and break it down so that it is easily understood. We combine it with realistic cost/benefit analyses based on their specific application. And I promise to do this in the most cost-effective way.

I am happy to assist any government, municipality, corporation or individual developer with creating a coordinated and affordable plan of action.

Let’s face it, there is a lot at stake; capital costs, variable costs, jobs, revenue streams, etc …. not to mention just trying to save the world! Please give me a call to discuss your situation.
